Subsidiary Čistoća is professional partner in the ZEEWASTE4EU project

- The first meeting of the ZeeWaste4EU project (full title: Zero food waste education of “Z” generation of European citizens) was held last week.

It is the project whose main impact is the promotion of education for sustainable food management and raising awareness of food consumption in household among younger generation and public.

One of the main goals of the project is the establishment of HUB which will serve as a platform where open educational materials, data from the research part of the project, as well as all information related to the project topic will be available.
It is co-financed by the European Commission under the Erasmus + program (KA220 - Cooperation partnerships in higher education). The total budget of the project is 2.8 million kuna.

The project coordinator is the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb, and the Zagreb Holding - Čistoća subsidiary – waste disposal participates as a professional partner. Partners from Romania, Italy, Estonia and Serbia are also participating in the project.

The Čistoća subsidiary – waste disposal is involved in the development of a methodology for estimating the amount of food waste generated in four European countries and tools aimed at preventing waste generation.

The project officially started in November this year and lasts until the end of 2024, and is a kind of continuation of the previous Erasmus + project “Waste Education Initiative”, on which also subsidiary Čistoća – waste disposal from 2017 to 2020 participated.
