Construction of a new building of XII. Gymnasiums began

April 22, 2021 - On Wednesday, April 21, laying of the cornerstone officially marked the beginning of the construction of the new building of XII. Gymnasium in Zagreb. The project is worth about 105 million kuna (excluding VAT) and will be implemented by the beginning of the school year 2022/2023.

Currently the XII. Gymnasium shares its premises with three other high schools – Agronomy, Veterinary Medicine and Food Technology. The construction of a new facility would increase the capacity of the school, which is a basic prerequisite for the organization of one-shift classes.

In the first phase, a new building will be built with a three-part hall for physical and health education with associated facilities. The Gymnasium, which has been operating since 1992, will have three floors - basement, ground floor and first floor, with a capacity for 480 students, while classes will take place in 23 classrooms with cabinets.

The total area of the building with the hall is 8,283 square meters. Accompanying outdoor sports fields will also be available to students.

The investor of the project is Zagreb Holding, a subsidiary Project Management.

The cornerstone was laid by the Deputy Mayor, Dr. sc. Jelena Pavičić Vukičević together with the President of the Management Board of Zagreb Holding, Ana Stojić Deban.
